As fewer open lots are available for purchase and home prices in the Greater Cleveland Area continue to soar, the Schill Architecture team has seen a dramatic increase in whole-home renovations and large-scale additions. One of our newest projects on the board involves a cozy 1,100 SF home in a family-friendly neighborhood in Bay Village. While the neighborhood may be perfect for raising children, the small home with a one-car garage is less than ideal for a family of five. Schill Architecture has designed an addition off the rear of the home that will increase the overall size of the home to nearly 2,500 square feet and will also include a two-car garage and spacious outdoor living space. Because the home is located on an older street in the community, it was important for the Schill Architecture team to maintain the integrity of the existing front elevation. The addition of vertical siding, dark windows and a dormer over the previous garage gives a modern farmhouse flair to the existing residence. Check out some of the before and after images of the proposed addition – we can’t wait to see construction begin on this renovation project!
