Located within the boundaries of the prestigious Catawba Island Club, the site for this Catawba home is defined by its adjacency to Speaker’s Pond, a large water feature within the club. While the lot offers unobstructed vistas of the water, the design was required to comply with local architectural restrictions placed on the site, as well as a limited building footprint. The design not only responds to these limitations, but also to the owner’s desire for an open floor plan in which they can easily entertain family and friends. By carefully balancing aesthetics and functionality, the home is reflective of the casual lifestyle of the clients. The project is expected to break ground in late Fall 2014.
