Even though it’s only the start of February, our minds are already drifting to summer on the North Coast. The Schill Architecure team loves having opportunities to design warm weather retreats that allow our clients to take full advantage of the sunshine and everything the waterfront has to offer!
Situated on a channel feeding into Lake Erie, this existing home had an outdoor living space that wasn’t functioning at full capacity. Our clients wanted a covered entertaining area that could be used in both the hot summer sun and on rainy nights. Our design used high ceilings appointed with tongue and groove cedar, paneled columns and custom railing to give a timeless coastal feel to the design. The Schill Architecture team also recommended integrating retractable Phantom Screens so the owners can keep those pesky summer bugs out while entertaining. We don’t think there’s a more perfect space to take in a summer day on the North Coast!
