At Schill Architecture, the only thing better than designing a beautiful home for an equally beautiful property is having an opportunity to design this home for a wonderful past client. It’s no secret that new lots in sought-after suburbs are hard to come by these days. When the opportunity arose for our client to purchase a small existing home on a lot ripe with potential, they jumped at the opportunity.
Perched over a creek within walking distance to popular dining, shopping and parks, the location of this property was perfect, but it was begging for a new home filled with today’s amenities. Despite the narrow lot size, we were able to incorporate a spacious kitchen, open floor plan, first floor owner’s suite, attached garage and ample outdoor entertaining space. The rooflines and architectural details of the home pay homage to the traditional character of this lakefront suburb, but the wood accents and open trusses add a rustic aesthetic. We’re so excited for our client’s next chapter in this home!
